SAN FRANCISCO, CA — December 15, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Via Licensing Alliance (Via) has appointed Kevin Mack as President, effective immediately. Mack will be responsible for overseeing Via’s strategic direction, partner relationships, licensing programs, and expansion efforts, including in semiconductor innovation.
Mack brings over two decades of experience in intellectual property and technology licensing, and previously oversaw intellectual property protection at Dolby Laboratories. A patent attorney and former litigator, Mack holds a J.D. from UC Berkeley and dual master’s degrees from Stanford University.
Andy Sherman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Via, said the appointment shows the company’s focus on strength and strategy and acknowledged Heath Hoglund’s contributions as he departs the organization. Mack’s appointment comes as Via strengthens its audio and video programs. The company recently divested HEVC/VVC administration to Access Advance LLC.
