TORONTO, Oct. 8, 2025 — Leads & Copy — TransCrypts, a Canadian blockchain-based platform focused on transforming digital identity and credential verification, has raised $15 million USD (approximately $20 million CDN) in seed funding. The funding round was led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Lightspeed Faction, Alpha Edison, Motley Fool Ventures, California Innovation Fund, Tomer London (angel), Mark Cuban, Techstars, Alumni Ventures, Protocol Labs, Apertu Capital, Informed Ventures, Asymmetry Ventures, and The Atland Fund.
The funding will support TransCrypts’ mission to empower consumers by giving them secure ownership and control of their verified credentials. The company aims to protect trust in an era increasingly threatened by AI-driven fraud and digital misrepresentation.
According to CEO and Co-Founder Zain Zaidi, the company’s goal is to give individuals full control of their identity, making verification secure, efficient, and fraud-resistant for employment, health, and educational records.
Pantera Capital’s General Partner Franklin Bi says TransCrypts addresses a key challenge of trust in the face of AI-driven fraud and data manipulation. He added that TransCrypts gives individuals full control of their credentials, while ensuring privacy, security, and compliance that only blockchains can handle.
TransCrypts has seen a 15-fold growth in 24 months, serving over 4 million users and 450 enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 companies. It intends to expand beyond employment credentials to health and educational records, recently achieving HIPAA certification. The company also plans to more than double its team in the next year, focusing on hiring for its new co-headquarters in downtown Toronto, alongside its existing co-headquarters in San Francisco.
