Supermicro and Lambda Collaborate on AI Infrastructure Expansion with GPU-Optimized Servers

August 25, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI) and Lambda have collaborated to expand AI infrastructure using Supermicro’s GPU-optimized servers, including NVIDIA Blackwell-based systems. The deployment began in June at Cologix’s COL4 ScalelogixSM data center in Columbus, Ohio, providing enterprise-grade AI compute solutions to the Midwest region.

Vik Malyala, SVP, Technology & AI at Supermicro, noted the collaboration aims to push the boundaries of AI infrastructure with flexible and energy-efficient solutions.

Lambda selected a mix of Supermicro systems, including SYS-A21GE-NBRT with NVIDIA HGX B200, SYS-821GE with NVIDIA HGX H200, and SYS-221HE-TNR, powered by Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. The integration features Supermicro’s AI Supercluster with NVIDIA GB200 and GB300 NVL72 racks for handling training and inference workloads.

Ken Patchett, VP Data Center Infrastructure at Lambda, emphasized the importance of Supermicro’s server portfolio in meeting current and future needs as Lambda builds gigawatt-scale AI factories.

The advancements have enabled Lambda to bring online a large AI factory with energy-efficient servers and advanced cooling technology, facilitating rapid deployment of next-generation AI accelerators.

Chris Heinrich, Chief Revenue Officer of Cologix, highlighted Columbus’s growth as an AI innovation hub and Cologix’s role in providing colocation and interconnection services.

Together, Supermicro, Lambda, and Cologix aim to enable rapid AI development across the Midwest, supporting industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, retail, and logistics.
