STRATIO Launches LS SWIR SDK with Germanium-Based SWIR Sensor

November 27, 2025 — Leads & Copy — STRATIO, a deep-tech company with operations in Silicon Valley and Seoul, has launched its LS SWIR SDK, featuring the world’s first Germanium (Ge)-based short-wave infrared (SWIR) sensor. The company aims to advance vision capabilities beyond human and conventional visible sensor limits with its Infrared-AI™ technology.

Traditional visible sensors capture spectral information invisible to the human eye. STRATIO’s technology introduces Infrared-AI™, built on signals unique to its sensors, and unifies sensor, data, and AI in a vertically integrated architecture. The LS SWIR SDK device combines Ge-based SWIR sensing with built-in analysis software, allowing users to capture and interpret invisible spectral data without specialized lab setups or expertise.

STRATIO’s CEO, JaeHyung James Lee, believes this technology marks a paradigm shift, stating that Infrared-AI™ is AI built on data only STRATIO can create, making the invisible visible for smarter and more sustainable decisions across industries.

The Infrared-AI™ solution has applications across various industries:

In sustainability, it identifies black, contaminated, or composite plastics with over 95% accuracy, increasing recycled-material purity and reducing waste sorting time.

For smart appliances, it enables devices to recognize materials and freshness, optimizing energy use and extending product life.

In agriculture and food technology, it measures soil carbon, crop maturity, and food quality in real-time, enabling sustainable, data-driven decisions. These applications reflect STRATIO’s “From Waste to Worth” philosophy.

The LS SWIR SDK is designed to be compact, accurate, and user-friendly, allowing innovators in sustainability, smart appliances, agriculture, and consumer electronics to explore infrared vision firsthand. STRATIO also plans to showcase the LS SWIR mini, an even smaller and more power-efficient version of its current platform, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.

In 2026, STRATIO aims to introduce its SWIR HD image sensor for the automotive and mobile markets, enabling vehicles, smartphones, and robots to perceive the unseen. The company’s global vision involves connecting frontier R&D with advanced manufacturing, expanding its Infrared-AI™ ecosystem to make daily life smarter, safer, and more sustainable.
