Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW) Unveils New AI Coding Agent, Tools

February 3, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW) has introduced a new AI coding agent and tools designed to help organizations accelerate data and AI projects.

The AI Data Cloud company’s Cortex Code aims to automate and speed up enterprise development. It allows users, regardless of their technical skills, to build data pipelines, analytics, and AI applications while maintaining security and governance.

Cortex Code joins Snowflake Intelligence as part of the Snowflake Cortex AI product suite. Snowflake is also introducing new capabilities for vibe coding and a collaborative development environment.

Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product, Snowflake, said that embedding AI directly into the development lifecycle with data context and controls shifts how organizations build with data and AI.

Cortex Code translates complex data engineering, analytics, machine learning, and agent-building tasks into natural language workflows, helping teams deliver production-ready outcomes faster. Organizations including Braze, Decile, dentsu, FYUL, LendingTree, Shelter Mutual Insurance, TextNow, United Rentals, and WHOOP use it to accelerate time to value and move use cases from idea to production.

Cortex Code understands users’ Snowflake data, compute, governance, and operational semantics and is customizable and interoperable. It can be used within the Snowflake platform through Cortex Code in Snowsight or within a terminal or code editor like VS Code or Cursor with Cortex Code CLI.

Snowflake is also advancing how users build, deploy, and manage AI-powered data workflows across the stack:

  • Vibe coding for AI apps with v0 by Vercel: A new integration with v0 by Vercel enables employees to create AI-powered data apps with natural language that can be deployed inside of Snowflake through Snowpark Container Services.
  • Agentic web search by Brave Search: A new integration with the Brave Search API brings real-time web knowledge into Snowflake Intelligence, Cortex Code, and Cortex Agents to bridge the gap between internal enterprise data and public world context. This integration enables agents to answer questions about current events, research market trends, and retrieve and source documentation.
  • A secure, end-to-end workspace for building production-ready AI: Enhancements to Workspaces, including Shared Workspaces, Snowflake Notebooks, and OpenID Connect (OIDC)-based authentication, provide a unified environment for teams to collaboratively build data pipelines, AI apps, and interactive experiences with security built-in.

Joe Tobey, Head of Data Products Engineering, dentsu, said that Cortex Code CLI aligns with how teams work, enabling them to translate data and evolving requirements into AI-powered solutions on Snowflake faster.

Miks Lūsītis, Senior Director of Data, FYUL, said that Cortex Code is changing how teams build on Snowflake by bringing context-aware AI directly into development workflows.

Srinivas Madabushi, Senior Vice President, Technology, LendingTree, said that Cortex Code gives teams a simple way to move quickly from exploring ideas to delivering AI-driven workflows directly on Snowflake.

Vibhor Gupta, Vice President of Enterprise Data & AI, Shelter Mutual Insurance, said it helps reduce friction in everyday data and AI development while maintaining the controls and oversight needed in a regulated environment.

Ganesan Saminathan, Head of Data Engineering, TextNow, said that Cortex Code enables teams to move faster from data to action by supporting AI-powered capabilities directly in data workflows.

Tony Leopold, Chief Technology and Strategy Officer, United Rentals, said that Cortex Code helps engineers improve the performance of business intelligence tools, reducing the time it takes to improve quality and speed of Natural Language Query responses.

Matt Luizzi, Senior Director of Business Analytics, WHOOP, said that Cortex Code has quickly improved how they build and operate AI across Snowflake.
