Boston, MA — December 4, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Ondas Autonomous Systems (OAS), a business unit of Ondas Holdings Inc., has been chosen as the prime contractor for a significant development and commercialization program for an unnamed major governmental entity. The company anticipates receiving an initial purchase order in January 2026, initiating a multi-phase program expected to last two years.
The program will task OAS with designing, developing, and integrating a comprehensive drone-based autonomous border protection system. This system is intended for deployment in both fixed and mobile scenarios. The program’s objective is to deploy thousands of autonomous drones capable of persistent intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), swarm-based response, and automated threat mitigation across challenging border terrains.
OAS secured the prime contractor position through a competitive evaluation process. This process included technical proposals, architecture reviews, and operational demonstrations against global defense contractors. OAS was selected for its autonomous capabilities, scalable architecture, and demonstrated operational maturity.

This contract strengthens Ondas’ position with a critical defense customer and expands its footprint in global defense markets.
The program will deliver a next-generation autonomous drone system designed for continuous border protection in fixed and mobile configurations. The system will provide 24/7 ISR, autonomous swarm deployment, and rapid detection and mitigation of ground and aerial threats across challenging terrains and high-activity border zones. All sensors, effectors, and mission operations will be unified under a centralized command-and-control architecture.
OAS will lead system design and integration, combining its autonomous aerial platforms with technologies from key partners to deliver a cohesive and scalable security solution. Ondas anticipates that the architecture developed under this program will be relevant to additional defense and homeland security customers across Allied nations.
The program will incorporate real-time sensor fusion, AI-driven targeting, automated swarm operations, navigation, and high-reliability autonomous mission execution capabilities. These capabilities have been proven in international deployments and record customer orders.
This award also advances Ondas’ System-of-Systems strategy, which integrates aerial, ground, and cyber capabilities into a unified operational framework.
