“Smartjeans?”: Levi Strauss & Co. (NYSE:LEVI) and Microsoft Partner on Agentic AI Platform

November 17, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Levi Strauss & Co. (LS&Co.) and Microsoft have jointly announced the development of an integrated agentic AI orchestration platform, centered around a single “super-agent,” to streamline and automate task-driven activities throughout LS&Co.

This initiative marks a significant advancement in LS&Co.’s ongoing digital transformation, reinforcing its dedication to operating as a leading direct-to-consumer (DTC) retailer.

The super-agent, designed for LS&Co.’s corporate personnel, is constructed using a sophisticated agentic framework integrated within Microsoft Teams and supported by Azure. This framework incorporates various AI-driven sub-agents across IT, human resources, and operations. The super-agent functions as an intelligent interface, leveraging the capabilities of each specialized agent to improve support, insights, and automation, thereby enhancing efficiency and accessibility for complex and repetitive tasks.

Currently undergoing construction and testing, the super-agent is slated for deployment in early 2026, with subsequent expansion to LS&Co.’s global offices throughout the year.

Michelle Gass, President & CEO of Levi Strauss & Co., emphasized the importance of this technological advancement, stating that AI presents a significant opportunity to revolutionize work processes across the company, from retail locations to corporate offices. The rollout of these tools in 2026 aims to provide teams with quicker access to vital information and insights, enhancing their efficiency and enabling them to better serve customers across all channels. Gass also noted that these new capabilities, along with strategic partnerships, will expedite LS&Co.’s journey to becoming a $10 billion retailer, setting new benchmarks for agility, operational excellence, and innovation in the global retail sector.

Nick Parker, Microsoft’s Chief Business Officer and President of Worldwide Sales and Solutions, highlighted the importance of expanding AI’s impact across different roles and developing custom agentic solutions. He expressed pride in collaborating with Levi’s® to integrate AI throughout their business, enhancing both consumer and employee experiences, and redefining retail excellence through purposeful innovation.

Jason Gowans, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at LS&Co., highlighted the transformative potential of AI in rethinking work processes and customer engagement. He noted that the integration of AI throughout the organization, from personalized experiences to automated workflows, will foster a more responsive and efficient business. Gowans emphasized that this foundation will accelerate innovation and shape the future of retail in an AI-driven landscape.

In addition to the super-agent, LS&Co. has introduced Outfitting, a personalized styling feature on its mobile app designed to strengthen customer relationships. Furthermore, the company is extending the deployment of STITCH, an AI assistant for store employees, to 60 U.S. locations after a successful pilot program.

Outfitting suggests tailored looks based on individual consumer preferences, purchase history, and current trends. Customers can access the “Complete the Look” section on their favorite product pages, such as those for 501® jeans, to find complementary denim lifestyle outfits. The feature is updated daily, incorporating consumer feedback, seasonal considerations, and merchandising guidelines. It is currently available in the U.S., Canada, and key European markets, with plans to introduce event-specific outfit suggestions and a dedicated AI assistant next year.

STITCH offers store teams on-demand access to product information, operational procedures, and training materials via a mobile app. Employees can use STITCH to answer customer inquiries, provide tailored advice, and streamline tasks, allowing them more time to engage with customers. The tool is being rolled out to 60 U.S. stores in anticipation of the holiday season, with a broader deployment planned for 2026.

LS&Co. is committed to data security and privacy, investing in responsible AI practices and risk mitigation during the development of these solutions.
