LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Kolmar Korea’s AI-powered Scar Beauty Device has captured the Best of Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category at CES 2026, marking a global first for a cosmetics company. The device also secured an Innovation Award in the Digital Health category at the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition.
The Best of Innovation Award is the highest honor at CES, reserved for technologies with top scores in innovation, design, and technological excellence. Kolmar Korea’s technology stood out among the 10 Innovation Award recipients in the Beauty Tech category.
Last year, Samsung Electronics was the inaugural recipient of the Best of Innovation in Beauty Tech. Kolmar Korea is now the second company overall and the first cosmetics company worldwide to receive this distinction.
The Scar Beauty Device offers an integrated scar treatment and skin coverage solution. It combines scar treatment with aesthetic coverage in a single device, allowing users to complete both in just 10 minutes, replacing the traditional method of applying ointment and then makeup.
The device utilizes AI-driven big data analysis and piezo-electric micro-dispensing technology. A smartphone app captures an image of the scar, and the AI algorithm classifies it into one of 12 types, performing a detailed condition analysis. A customized treatment solution is dispensed based on this analysis.
The device also blends and sprays an optimal combination of over 180 skin-tone-matched colors for seamless cover makeup. The piezo-electric micro-dispensing technology enables precise application without heat generation.
The Scar Beauty Device was also recognized for its user-friendly UI/UX, which allows users to monitor and control the amount of treatment dispensed in real time via a smartphone screen, making it accessible to general consumers.
Kolmar Korea plans to launch the technology in the first half of 2026 and begin full-scale customer acquisition in the second half of the year. The company intends to further advance its software to apply the piezo-electric micro-dispensing technology to customized cosmetics manufacturing and accelerate smart factory development through government-led AX (AI Transformation) research initiatives.
A Kolmar Korea official said the award reflects the company’s research focus on user experience and real-world problem-solving and that the company will continue to expand AI, IoT, and big data technologies across cosmetic development and service areas. The official added that Kolmar Korea will continue to lead the global beauty tech industry by introducing differentiated beauty tech solutions that integrate AI and digital technologies.
Kolmar Korea is showcasing its microbiome-based scalp diagnostic solution, CAIOME, with live demonstrations at CES 2026 at the Venetian Expo, Hall A–D, Booth No. 55050 (Lifestyle Section) through January 9.
