September 3, 2025 — Leads & Copy — ICEYE, a leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite operations, and SATIM, a SAR data analytics provider, have launched Detect & Classify, an AI-powered product transforming satellite imagery into actionable intelligence. Combining ICEYE’s high-resolution SAR imagery with SATIM’s AI, the product detects and classifies vessels, aircraft, and vehicles in ICEYE imagery with over 90% accuracy.
The Detect & Classify product bundles ICEYE imagery with SATIM’s AI-based imagery derivatives, delivering both the SAR image and detections and classifications of objects in the image in a single, high-confidence package. This provides situational awareness across maritime, air, and land domains, supporting SAR analysts in the armed forces and intelligence agencies. This launch follows a joint development effort first announced in February 2025.
The product addresses challenges in manual SAR data analysis, empowering users to automate the delivery of insights about what the imagery captures. ICEYE delivers imagery within hours or minutes, with Detect & Classify derivatives delivered on the same timelines.
Intelligence analysts can now establish behavior patterns in larger image volumes, while tactical teams can locate and classify assets, and maritime forces can identify illicit vessels.
John Cartwright, Senior VP of Data Product at ICEYE, stated the goal is to empower customers to make faster, informed decisions. Jacek Strzelczyk, CEO of SATIM, added that combining SATIM’s object catalog with ICEYE’s SAR imagery provides direct access to actionable intelligence.
ICEYE owns the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, delivering global access and the highest revisit frequency on the market, with 25 cm ground resolution. ICEYE has launched 54 SAR satellites. The new Scan Wide imaging mode covers up to 60,000 km² in a single scene, useful for maritime and large-scale monitoring.
