September 16, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Diplomat Consulting and Punchcard Systems are partnering to develop LegEngine, an AI-powered tool designed to modernize the review, analysis, and development of legislative and policy frameworks. Nathan Mison, President and Founder of Diplomat Consulting, and Sam Jenkins, Managing Partner of Punchcard Systems, initiated the partnership to create LegEngine, which aims to streamline access to and interpretation of legislative documents, enabling policy analysts to identify gaps and opportunities more efficiently. The tool will initially focus on Alberta’s transportation and trade policy environments to cultivate economic corridors, such as the one between Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
Sam Jenkins emphasizes the importance of modern technology in government decision-making, stating that LegEngine will help public servants move from reacting to leading by combining Alberta-specific data with AI. Nathan Mison notes that existing tools are outdated and not tailored to Alberta’s legal and political environment. LegEngine aims to equip government stakeholders with AI-driven tools to improve accuracy and timeliness in legislative work.
