Darktrace Federal and Navitas Awarded U.S. Department of State Contract for AI-Powered Cyber Security

Arlington, VA — December 10, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Darktrace Federal and Navitas Business Consulting, Inc. have secured a definitive, firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Department of State to provide a next-generation, AI-powered network detection and response (NDR) modernization solution.

The team will deploy Darktrace’s advanced AI-powered NDR capabilities within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s (BDS) global IT infrastructure. The BDS is responsible for protecting U.S. diplomats, embassies, and sensitive information in over 170 countries.

Federal agencies face unprecedented cyber pressure, including threats from state-backed actors using techniques like living-off-the-land (LOTL) attacks and the rise of AI-powered attacks. The federal government recognizes that AI-powered cybersecurity is essential for detecting and stopping sophisticated, novel attacks at machine speed to ensure national resilience.

Darktrace’s Cyber AI Mission Defense™ (CAMD) NDR solution, powered by Self-Learning AI, establishes an adaptive understanding of normal behavior across devices, users, and networks. It defends against nation-state actors, insider risks, supply chain attacks, and zero-day exploits. CAMD combines automated threat detection and response for both Information Technology and Operational Technology environments, offering full network visibility.

By aligning Darktrace’s Self-Learning AI with Navitas’ federal cloud and cyber frameworks, the State Department will gain a unified, resilient, and scalable defense posture across its global presence.

This contract follows Darktrace Federal’s FedRAMP® High authorization and its distribution partnership with Vertosoft. Darktrace Federal has also opened a new deployment center in Dallas, Texas, to expand and accelerate U.S. hardware manufacturing capacity and delivery for federal and commercial customers. The facility will enhance production capacity for Trade Agreements Act (TAA)-compliant hardware.

Darktrace Federal plans to expand its team by 20% in the next six months to better support customers and accelerate deployments. These investments aim to help U.S. agencies modernize cybersecurity operations and respond to the evolving threat landscape.

Navitas’ federal delivery accelerators, cyber engineering frameworks, and modernization playbooks will enable faster deployments and improved security.

Marcus Fowler, CEO of Darktrace Federal, stated that combining Darktrace’s Self-Learning AI with Navitas’ expertise will provide the State Department with mission-wide visibility and real-time defense at global scale.

Seenu Talasila, Chief Growth Officer at Navitas Business Consulting, noted that integrating Darktrace’s Self-Learning AI with Navitas’ capabilities will strengthen the Department of State’s resilience while reducing operational burden.
