AUSTIN, Texas — October 16, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Coder has launched Blink in Early Access, which was unveiled during Cloudflare Connect. Blink is designed to enable developers to rapidly build, ship, and run AI agents and chatbots, starting with Slack.
According to research, a small fraction of in-house agent projects ever reach production status due to skillset gaps and technical obstacles. Gartner warns that over 40% of agentic AI projects will be scrapped by 2027 because of high cost or execution challenges.
Coder addresses these challenges with Blink, an open source CLI for building agents, and Blink Cloud, a hosted service for deploying and sharing them across teams. It’s a developer engine for building AI agents, providing the runtime, infrastructure, and developer tools needed to build intelligent, event-driven agents that integrate with real-world systems. Early Access supports Slack, with deeper integration planned for GitHub and other environments.
Kyle Carberry, co-founder at Coder, stated that Blink simplifies the development of AI agents by bringing AI to chat tools and making development code-first.
Blink’s open-source agent development framework runs from the terminal, providing a code-first way to build and refine agents. Users can test, adjust, and validate an agent’s behavior in real time before deploying to the cloud.
Blink was created based on community feedback and insights from building and supporting Coder’s open source and proprietary AI development infrastructure solutions. It complements Coder’s enterprise development environments, which support AI and tooling workloads with GPU access, modular templates, and secure boundaries for coding agents and developers.
During Cloudflare’s keynote at Cloudflare Connect, Carberry highlighted how Blink can leverage Cloudflare’s global edge for agent deployments, alongside Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht and Principal Systems Engineer Sunil Pai.
Blink CLI allows you to build and test agents from your terminal. Blink Cloud allows you to deploy and share agents across your team. Slack support lets you create bots that act and respond in Slack.
Early Access is open and free to download, with contributions encouraged. Developers are invited to help shape the future of agentic software.
