February 23, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET) has announced it has achieved a milestone by delivering the world’s first complete Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) to support modern post-quantum (PQ) encryption standards.
The Cloudflare One SASE platform integrates advanced post-quantum encryption across its major network configurations. It aims to provide a secure connection between corporate environments and its global network. This allows organizations to protect sensitive data against cyber threats, and ensures a transition to cryptographic standards.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has warned that cryptographic algorithms need to be upgraded by 2030, or systems may be vulnerable to quantum computers that can break traditional cryptography. Threat actors are allegedly exploiting this lag time through “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks, where they collect encrypted secrets, records, and data that they can unlock in the future.
In 2025, Cloudflare launched a cloud-native post-quantum Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and Zero Trust solution. Today’s announcement completes the SASE equation by adding PQ support for wide-area networking (WAN) use cases with Cloudflare IPsec and the Cloudflare One Appliance. The company says that every component of the Cloudflare One ecosystem, including Zero Trust access and WAN-as-a-Service, is now protected by cryptographic standards. Cloudflare One has become a SASE solution that outperforms legacy setups in both speed and stability, while also future-proofing network traffic with post-quantum encryption, the company claims.
According to Matthew Prince, CEO and co-founder of Cloudflare, the company has been working since 2017 to incorporate post-quantum standards directly into its network. By bringing this protection to the SASE platform, Cloudflare aims to make post-quantum security the default, without requiring hardware upgrades, complex configurations, or added costs.
Cloudflare’s IPsec enables:
High-Availability Routing: Cloudflare IPsec traffic is automatically rerouted to the healthiest data center if another data center becomes unavailable.
Protection Against “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” Attacks: Cloudflare secures network flows with post-quantum encryption, protecting data against future threats.
Industry-Wide Interoperability: Cloudflare’s IPsec implementation adheres to Internet standards, and supports cross-vendor collaboration and security at scale.
Cloudflare’s quantum-safe SASE platform is available today.
