RESTON, Va. — October 6, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (NASDAQ: BWMN) has acquired the assets of Sierra Overhead Analytics (“SOA”) and its technology affiliate ORCaS, Inc. The acquisition expands Bowman’s energy practice and extends its digital services portfolio.
SOA is an engineering firm that provides technology-centric civil design, precision mapping, and hydrology services to energy and general infrastructure customers. ORCaS provides proprietary tools for SOA, enabling specialized design automation, location optimization, and hydrological studies for clients, including data centers and energy developers and operators. The acquisition will strengthen Bowman’s capabilities in high-growth, high-value markets such as data center development, climate resiliency, utilities, power and alternative energy, while expanding its digital services and delivery platform.
Gary Bowman, founder and CEO of Bowman, said the acquisition reflects the company’s commitment to technology-enabled growth focused on lifecycle engineering. Owen Ransom, president of SOA and ORCaS, said joining forces with Bowman unlocks opportunities to accelerate innovation and expand the reach of their technology.
Bowman recently launched its Office of Innovation, which will oversee the integration of ORCaS technologies. The company expects to continue focusing on acquisitions oriented toward energy, transportation, natural resources, and adjacent technology-enabled services.
The acquisition was financed with a combination of cash, seller notes, and a convertible note and conforms with previously discussed target multiples and operating metrics. Bowman anticipates the acquisition will operate at a net service billing run rate of approximately $2.2 million and be immediately accretive.
