Los Angeles, CA — September 10, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Attesto has launched a Trust Layer product to identify fake, duplicate, and AI-generated job applications early in the hiring process, addressing the growing issue of fraudulent submissions. According to Attesto’s CEO Maryam Mahdaviani, this new AI-based fraud detector comes as HR departments struggle with an increasing number of fake applications, especially for remote positions, and one of Attesto’s customers is reporting up to 60% fake applications for remote roles. Gartner predicts that by 2028, 25% of global candidate profiles will be fake.
CardFlight’s Recruiting Lead, Brooklyn Bentz, noted the speed and accuracy with which Attesto identified fraudulent candidates, allowing their team to focus on qualified applicants. Customers report Attesto catches at least 95% of fraudulent applications, significantly reducing processing time.
By using proprietary data, identity-linked trust signals, and AI agents, Attesto helps employers reduce applicant processing time, protect against security and financial risks, and ensure genuine candidates move through the hiring pipeline faster. The Trust Layer integrates into existing applicant tracking systems via API or low-code connectors to evaluate submissions in real time.
