December 18, 2025 — Leads & Copy — American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), Amwins, and funds managed by Blackstone are forming a new Lloyd’s syndicate, Syndicate 2479. The syndicate will commence underwriting $300 million of premium, managed by AIG, on January 1, 2026. The portfolio represents a cross section of Amwins’ ~$6 billion of delegated authority premiums. AIG used Palantir’s Foundry to validate its analysis of the portfolio.
AIG will leverage Palantir’s Foundry platform and Large Language Model agents to retrieve data and evaluate risk characteristics to understand how the Amwins’ program portfolio aligns with the Syndicate’s risk appetite. AIG has developed an ontology that will enable Large Language Models to access over four million industry data points to expand its underwriting capabilities.
According to Peter Zaffino, Chairman & CEO, AIG, the partnership represents innovation, technical modeling, and use of GenAI for portfolio underwriting. He added that AIG collaborated with Palantir to analyze the portfolio with specific characteristics. Zaffino believes this capability will unlock future opportunities for expansion and innovation in specialty and other lines of business.
Scott Purviance, CEO, Amwins, said the partnership will facilitate the ability to create new programs and build long-term sustainable capacity, and that AIG’s underwriting knowledge and GenAI capabilities facilitated the creation of this new syndicate.
