November 26, 2025 — Leads & Copy — AI21 Labs and Together AI have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the use of open-source artificial intelligence within AI-native companies and enterprises. This collaboration combines AI21’s agent orchestration system, Maestro, with Together AI’s model platform.
The partnership will allow companies to use Maestro to construct knowledge agents powered by Together AI’s portfolio of open-source models. McKinsey reports that three-quarters of organizations plan to expand their use of open-source AI, with most expecting lower implementation costs. The partnership seeks to facilitate AI adoption by easing the integration, testing, and operationalization of open models within existing workflows.
The joint offering aims to move enterprises beyond black-box solutions, providing a more flexible, transparent, and cost-efficient architecture. According to AI21, Maestro was designed to intelligently orchestrate models, regardless of their origin. The integration of Together AI’s open-source ecosystem enables enterprises to aggregate the intelligence from various open-source models, which will provide model choice, full transparency, and building blocks for operationalizing agent systems reliably.
Vipul Ved Prakash, CEO of Together AI, stated the company believes open models democratize frontier capabilities, making them accessible to any organization, and offer more control and cost efficiencies. Ori Goshen, Co-CEO of AI21 Labs, added that integrating Together AI’s open-source ecosystem enables enterprises to aggregate intelligence from a diverse portfolio of open-source models.
AI21 Labs, founded in 2017 by Prof. Amnon Shashua, Prof. Yoav Shoham, and Ori Goshen, has secured $336 million in funding from industry leaders such as Google and Intel.
Together AI supports the end-to-end AI lifecycle with tooling across model training, fine-tuning, and inference on optimized GPU clusters. It is trusted by AI natives such as ElevenLabs, Cursor, Decagon, AI21, Hedra, Cartesia, and SaaS innovators including Salesforce, Zoom, and Zomato.
