Cognizant and Workfabric AI Collaborate to Advance Enterprise AI with Context Engineering Initiative

August 29, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Cognizant is launching a strategic initiative to industrialize agentic AI across enterprises by deploying 1,000 context engineers over the next year. The move marks a significant investment in context engineering, enabling AI agents to reason, act, and adapt in line with enterprise goals.

As part of the initiative, Cognizant is partnering with Workfabric AI, which builds the context engine for enterprise AI. Cognizant’s context engineers will use Workfabric AI’s ContextFabric platform, which transforms organizational workflows, data, rules, and processes into actionable context for AI agents.

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S. said that in the LLM era, context is key. Cognizant’s expertise in engineering, operations, and industry domains enables the company to provide value. Equipping its engineers with Workfabric AI’s platform will help clients move toward scalable AI adoption.

Context engineering skills combine domain, functional, and technical expertise. They will be honed across Cognizant’s service lines through targeted training and enablement. Integrated with Cognizant’s Agentic Development Lifecycle (ADLC), context engineering will be scaled as a foundational capability.

Workfabric AI CEO Rohan N. Murty said Cognizant’s commitment signals where the services industry is headed. The ContextFabric platform enables engineers to deliver trusted, enterprise-grade outcomes and has demonstrated improvements such as higher accuracy, fewer hallucinations, faster deployment cycles, and higher ROI.

As Cognizant’s context engineers engage with clients through the ADLC phases, they will capture enterprise knowledge, manage the context lifecycle, build integration pipelines, package reusable context assets, design context blueprints and create solutions to bootstrap context-sharing ecosystems.

The impact of this work can bring the following benefits: risk reduction, higher ROI, efficiency gains, cost optimization, accelerated time-to-value and differentiation.
