Washington, D.C. — October 7, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Forterra, Raytheon, and Oshkosh Defense will display two DeepFires™ autonomous launcher prototypes at the 2025 Association of the United States Army’s Annual Meeting and Exposition.
The collaboration aims to deliver unmatched expertise in autonomy, systems integration, combat-proven effectors, and tactical vehicle platforms, positioning the team to provide a transformative launcher capability for the Army.
DeepFires, based on the Oshkosh Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV) A2 chassis, is a mobile, autonomous launcher configured for offensive strikes. It is C-130 transportable and engineered for all-terrain, all-weather performance, offering flexibility to meet the U.S. Army’s future fires requirements.
Raytheon will lead the program as the prime contractor, integrating advanced weapons systems. Forterra will provide its AutoDrive autonomy system, enabling autonomous or optionally crewed operation. Oshkosh Defense will supply the base vehicle platform, ensuring mobility and reliability.
Chris Seifert, Forterra’s Head of Autonomous Strike, stated that DeepFires represents a generational step up in force projection.
Tom Laliberty, president of Land & Air Defense Systems at Raytheon, highlighted the rapid delivery of a critical capability to the US Army through this collaboration.
Steve Nordlund, president of the Oshkosh Transport segment, emphasized the equipping of Soldiers with reliable, mission-ready launchers.
