SAN FRANCISCO, CA — October 6, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Planful Inc., a financial performance management cloud software company, has announced the appointment of John Herr as its new Chief Executive Officer. Herr, a board member since 2019, is a veteran CEO who has led multiple high-growth SaaS companies through transformational growth and global expansion, including Adaptive Insights (acquired by Workday in 2018), Avetta, and Arcoro. He succeeds Grant Halloran, who is stepping down after six years in the role.
Alex Slusky, Chairman of Planful’s Board and Founder of Vector Capital, stated that Herr’s track record demonstrates his ability to create value for stakeholders. Herr has over 30 years of leadership experience in enterprise software. At Avetta, he expanded the company’s international presence, and at Adaptive Insights, he grew the company to a category leader in financial planning. As a Planful board member since 2019, Herr has helped shape Planful’s corporate strategy, market expansion, and supported product innovation such as Planful AI.
Herr stated he looks forward to working more closely with the Planful team and to scale the company. He added that Planful has over 1,500 customers in over 100 countries and offers a unique platform that addresses critical needs for finance leaders. His focus will be on AI innovation, global expansion, and service delivery to customers.
