1Password Launches Secure Agentic Autofill for AI Agents

October 8, 2025 — Leads & Copy — 1Password has announced Secure Agentic Autofill, a feature that securely provides credentials to AI agents in the browser, available via an integration with Browserbase. The tool allows AI agents to authenticate without exposing credentials, and allows AI developers to connect a 1Password vault to power secure browser workflows.

According to 1Password CEO David Faugno, security should empower productivity. The partnership with Browserbase simplifies building and innovating with Agentic AI while protecting credentials and sensitive data. Secure Agentic Autofill ensures AI agents can execute workflows under human oversight while credentials remain private and protected. App developers can connect their 1Password vaults, configure credential access for AI Agents, and allow secure autofill when required.

Key features include human-in-the-loop authorization, private and secure default settings, easy setup, just-in-time authentication, and automatic credential mapping. Secure Agentic Autofill addresses secure authentication challenges in AI adoption by delivering credentials from a 1Password vault into Browserbase at runtime, with human oversight and end-to-end encryption.

Browserbase CEO Paul Klein says AI agents are changing how work gets done. The partnership with 1Password extends their security framework into agentic browser automation, enabling organizations to scale AI confidently. Secure Agentic Autofill is available in early access for 1Password customers using Browserbase.
